| Pharmacy Assistant Reference #: PHARMASSIST Union: OPSEU Supervisor: Director of Pharmacy Classification: Various Salary: $22.33 to $27.41 per hour Posted Date: 2012-02-03 Deadline: 2020-12-31 Description: JOB DESCRIPTION Under the supervision of a pharmacist the Pharmacy Assistant: § Maintains computerized patient profiles. § Performs dispensing of inpatient and outpatient orders § Distributes and accounts for medications including narcotics, investigational and emergency release drugs, and drug studies. § Prepares routine and non-routine non-sterile compounding. § Prepares sterile manufactured products using aseptic guidelines including: sterile intravenous medications, parenteral nutrition, chemotherapy. § Checks final preparations of sterile manufacturing of intravenous antibiotics and pre-packaged medications. § Maintains stock of pharmaceuticals, labels, containers, and other supplies within the work areas of the department. § Reports and records any shortages of pharmaceuticals or supplies on the appropriate order list. § In the absence of a pharmacy aide, maintains pharmaceutical supplies on nursing units and clinic areas by sto.... |
