| Title Nurse Practitioner Job ID TBCC-12-001 Function The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a registered nurse who holds a masters degree in nursing in addition to expertise in a clinical nursing specialty. As a direct care provider the NP provides expert clinical nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary oncology team. The NP utilizes advanced knowledge, skills and decision-making ability to conduct comprehensive patient assessments, formulate diagnoses, implement appropriate clinical care and evaluate care outcomes for a designated population of oncology patients. The NP functions at a high level of autonomy and provides comprehensive, direct patient care, independent of, but in conjunction with, the multidisciplinary oncology team. Duties & Responsibilities Utilizes and demonstrates comprehensive nursing theoretical knowledge and advanced level of critical thinking and clinical competence in caring for tertiary level cancer patients/families and to conduct advanced assessments of patients.
