Reporting to the Team Manager of Primary Care Services and as a member of the inter-professional team, the Nurse Practitioner applies advanced nursing and medical theory to the provision of clinical care - autonomously ordering diagnostic tests and pharmacologic agents, interpreting diagnostic tests and performing minor invasive procedures. This skilled practitioner implements strategies to promote health and prevent illness, is proficient in research, planning implementing and evaluation of complex care and demonstrates competence to teach others. The Nurse Practitioner roles include practitioner, consultant, educator, leader and advocate.
