| Mortgage Broker Underwriter Location: Toronto - Corporate Office Job Code: 425 # of openings: 2 Description Purpose of the Job: The Broker Unit is part of Meridian’s Risk Management function at the Toronto Corporate Office. The Department is accountable for providing prompt adjudication to the Broker network for mortgage applications. As Broker Unit Underwriter, you will review, process and approve mortgage applications received from mortgage brokers in a timely and effective manner. You will further support the achievement of the Broker Units goals while adhering to established broker policies and guidelines and within assigned lending authority. Key Responsibilities: Negotiate/approve/recommend/decline within established guidelines and authorized lending limits, residential mortgage applications. Submit applications to CMHC, Genworth and AIG mortgage insurance. Follow up on outstanding conditions/documentation, perform due diligence on all confirmations, appraisals and supporting documentation. Prepare and issue mortgage commitments within specified turnaround times. Handle as required, correspondence and telephone enquiries from mortgage brokers, solicitors, Members and br.... |
