| LifeLabs Burnaby Reference Laboratory (BRL) is currently recruiting for a Medical Laboratory Technologist. This position is Casual and therefore hours are not guaranteed (0-37.5 hours per week). Job Purpose: Responsible for operating high volume analyzers, performing maintenance, troubleshooting, evaluation of QC, processing and releasing accurate patient results. Duties: Operates high volume analyzers including reagent and control preparation, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting. Assays, evaluates and documents all QC run on the analyzers. Strives to meet and maintain the quality standards as outlined for the department. Works with the TRs and Supervisor(s) to help resolve identified quality issues. Operates both IntRlab and instrument computer systems including demographic updates, releasing batches/specimens, adding/deleting tests and erroneous report protocols. Maintains knowledge of specimen handling including delivery and run times, protocols for specimen rejection, double accessions and storage of specimens.
