| Medical Lab Assistant Regular Part Time (0.8 FTE) CSTMST Lab, Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, Operations & Support Services SALARY: $18.4626 - $20.9147 /hr UNION STATUS: NSGEU-HC COMPETITION NUMBER: J5708 POSTING DATE: January 22, 2010 CLOSING DATE: January 25, 2010 (4:30pm) START DATE: ASAP POSITION SUMMARY: The Medical Lab Assistant performs a wide variety of laboratory functions to meet operational requirements. Responsibilities include: performing venous and capillary blood collections; using MEDITECH for order/entry; cleaning and sterilizing work area and equipment; blood specimen processing including those related to clinical trials; preparing reagents. Prepares samples and documentation for shipment of diagnostic and research specimens to destinations out of province, both nationally and internationally; including packing boxes for shipmen on dry ice and arranging for courier pickup. Maintains an organized and clean work environment. Performs other related duties as required. SHIFTS: 7.5 Hour shifts, rotating days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays QUALIFICATIONS: -Registered Medical Laboratory Assistant with CSMLS or Grade XII, with English, Mathematic.... |
