| The Mobile Laboratory Patient Technician (MLPT) is primarily responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate and efficient collection of patient specimens primarily in long term care facilities and private residences within a designated geographical area. In addition, the MLPT provides input to the Supervisor concerning route issues and opportunities for improvement while ensuring that LifeLabs Core Values of C ustomer Focus, A ccountability, R espect and E xcellence are demonstrated in all activities. Detailed Description: Organize and plan scheduled patient visits to Long Term Care Facilities and private residences in order to collect specimens as per the physicians request Request information as required from patients, call patients to book appointments, determine if patients have followed necessary test preparation protocol prior to specimen collection, and provide instruction to patients regarding the specimen collection process Perform phlebotomies, connect/disconnect holter monitors and perform ECG tracings; may expedite interpretation of possible abnormal ECG tracings Ensure accuracy of the Requisition for On-Site Laboratory Services received from Long Term Care Facilities Comp.... |
