In keeping with Best Practices this role includes assessment, crises intervention and follow-up services to clients and identified supports as required. The position provides clinical direction and services to people referred to mental health and addictions within their geographic area of responsibility. She/he functions in an education/consultation role in response to the needs of health care providers, family physicians, community agencies, families & clients, and other team members on mental health issues. The role is defined by the needs of the professional expectations, agency expectations, population demands, the provision of programs and the goals for professional practice.
