Library Assistant - Circulation
(Part time Term to April 30 2012 – minimum 11 hours/week)
Duties:
Reporting to the Manager, Access and Information Services this position is primarily responsible
for:
• Circulation duties and interaction with library users including patron registration
• Charging & discharging materials
• Handling cash transactions
• Providing assistance with the reserve materials
• Processing library materials
• Facilitating inquires
• Interpreting library policies and procedures
• Accessing and using of student Banner & LiveTime
• Monitoring of public areas
• Providing direction to student assistants
• Other duties as required or assigned as library priorities and initiatives change
This position involves assistance with library systems, library equipment, photocopiers,
scanners and reader/printers. There is a physical component of lifting, bending and shifting of
library materials, moving book trucks, and some library equipment.
