| Position Title: Laboratory Technologist I Competition Number: CHRL-12-120 Status: Full-Time Temporary - Duration: Anticipated until September 2013 FTE: 1.0 Department: Laboratory Position Type: Both Position Description/ Required Qualifications: Reporting to the CRH Site Manager and under the direction of the Hematology/Transfusion Medicine Supervisor, Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform; daily processing, testing, resulting and reporting of diagnostic samples in the combined Hematology/Transfusion Medicine department. This position is 0.5 Regular and 0.5 Hematology/Transfusion Medicine float pool. The applicant must have completed training in an approved training school for Medical Laboratory Technologists, and be currently registered or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Technologists (ACMLT). Current experience in all facets of Transfusion Medicine and Hematology is preferred. Candidate must be well organized, flexible and able to work under pressure. Ability to prioritize and work independently as well as in a group setting is essential. Must possess good technical and problem solving skills. Computer literacy and keyboarding skills required.
