| Position Title: Laboratory Assistant Competition Number: CHRL-12-118 Status: Part-Time Temporary - Duration: Anticipated until March 2013 FTE: .50 Department: Laboratory Position Type: Both Position Description/ Required Qualifications: Reporting to the CRH Site Manager and under the Supervision of the Data Centre CLXT II, this position provides technical and clerical functions primarily in Data Centre. Basic duties include; specimen collection, processing, sorting and delivery to test areas as well as data entry. Preference given to Graduates of an accredited MLA day program. Successful completion of the following courses is required if candidate is not from an accredited MLA day program: Phlebotomy, Medical Terminology, and Specimen Accession. Experience in a laboratory hospital setting is an asset and Data Centre preferred. Excellent phlebotomy skills required. Ability to organize and prioritize workload as well as work under pressure. Strong computer and keyboarding skills is an asset. Candidate must possess the ability to work independently as well as in a group setting.
