| Senior Regional Dam Safety Officer Salary $57,188.79 - $74,571.31 annually plus, 4.4% Temporary Market Adjustment (Professional Engineer) Salary $57,188.79 to $71,428.33 annually (Professional Geoscientist) Take a lead role in maintaining public safety by providing valuable expertise with respect to dam safety issues Dam safety in British Columbia is delivered both regionally and through the Dam Safety Section in Victoria. The Dam Safety Section is responsible for the provincial dam safety program and regulation of 190 major dams (over 9 meters in height). The regional component of the program is delivered by Regional Dam Safety Officers under their respective Managers or Section Heads depending on the regional organizational structure. Experienced in working in public safety and emergency management, you also have working knowledge of water and dam safety management principles, related legislation and associated policies and procedures. As Senior Regional Dam Safety Officer, you are responsible for performing some or all of the complex duties of a Water Stewardship Officer in regards to the allocation of water under the Water Act for dams in the Cariboo region.
