| Brief Description: The Laboratory Patient Technician (LPT) is primarily responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate and efficient collection of patient specimens from the initial greeting of the patient, data entry, phlebotomy, ECGs, to the final preparation of specimens for transportation. The LPT is also responsible for performing related tasks to keep the Patient Service Centre in operational order. In addition, the LPT provides input to the Supervisor concerning team issues and opportunities for improvement and ensures that LifeLabs Core Values of C ustomer Focus, A ccountability, R espect and E xcellence are demonstrated in all activities. The Mobile Laboratory Patient Technician (MLPT) is primarily responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate and efficient collection of patient specimens primarily in long term care facilities and private residences within a designated geographical area. In addition, the MLPT provides input to the Supervisor concerning route issues and opportunities for improvement while ensuring that LifeLabs Core Values of are demonstrated in all activities.
