| JOB TITLE: Journeyperson, Sprinkler System Installer DEPARTMENT: Facilities Management Division, Operations and Maintenance, Mechanical STATUS: 1.0 FTE; Term, up to 6 months with the possibility of becoming permanent. COMPETITION NO.: 12057-T SALARY INFORMATION: $4157.83 to $5608.55 per month. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience. PRIMARY PURPOSE: To provide both construction and maintenance support for plumbing/fire system maintenance operations at the University of Saskatchewan. NATURE OF WORK: Reporting to the Plumbing Supervisor, this position works in a multi-trade environment under variable conditions, indoors, as well as outdoors in all types of weather, and requires moderate to heavy physical labour. Work may be in confined spaces containing asbestos or hazardous materials, as well as tunnels, hatches, crawl spaces and all mechanical areas that may be hot and humid, noisy, light and movement restricted. TYPICAL DUTIES: In general, the Sprinkler System Installer provides services including, but not limited to, the installation, repair and maintenance of piping, sprinkler system components of fire protection systems.
