| tablehead Intern Building Official (2) File No.: K09-12-2012 Closing: February 3, 2012 Position Type: Full Time (35 hours per week) Length of Time: Up to 12 months Salary: $22.71 - $27.78 (2012) Department Building & Licensing Position Summary Administer the Building Code, Building Code Act, Zoning, Pool, Sign and other By-Laws to inspect residential buildings as well as accessory buildings in the City of Kingston and take the necessary steps to ensure that these properties comply with all applicable codes and by-laws. Must successfully complete all necessary exams for Tier 1 Intern within 12 months of registering with the OBOA and 12 months of start date. Candidates will progress to Class 2, as per MOU dated April 26, 2007 available through Human Resources. Qualifications, Competencies Three year community college diploma in Architectural, Civil or Building Code Technology and five or more years of experience as a Building Practitioner, plus successful completion of the Legal Process Exam, General and CBO or equivalent in education and experience. Must have completed one of the Ministry's Legal/Process Examinations - General, CBO, RCA or Designer. Must demonstrate corporate compet.... |
