| Insurance Defence - Legal Assistant Job ID: 103472 Location: Toronto;Mississauga Full/Part Time: Full-Time Regular/Temporary: Regular Return to Previous Page Responsibilities The Legal Department - Claims of Intact Insurance is looking for experienced Legal Assistants to join its Toronto office. The preferred candidates will have a minimum of 5 years Legal Assistance experience in an insurance defence / personal injury practice, either in an in-house or private practice setting. The candidates will assist legal counsel with civil litigation files (tort personal injury, accident benefits and property claims). Job Summary and Duties - Proficiency in dictation with a high degree of accuracy. - Opens files, including organization of material and initial letters to client. - Maintains filing system; ensures filing is up to date. - Manages undertakings, including follow up and organization of material on receipt. - Drafts correspondence, prepares court documents and briefing files - Performs faxing and copying as needed - Preparation of standard pleadings. - Prepare Affidavit of Documents for lawyer’s review within 30 days of date defence is filed. - Schedules appearances and main.... |
