This position is temporary only until March 31, 2012 POSITION SUMMARY: The Infection Prevention and Control Practitioner (IPACP) is responsible for assisting in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of an infection control program including: budget preparation, policy, procedure reviews and practices, surveillance, outbreak management, education, consultation and leadership. S/he performs a variety of professional duties involved in the prevention and control of infections, which includes audits, the collection, interpretation, and reporting of data. This position will assist in ongoing development and maintenance of a best practice Infection Prevention and Control program (IPAC) including evaluation of staff skills, developing remedial action plans, evaluation of compliance with infection control directives, performance reviews, regular in-services, orientation and staff feedback.?
