| Under direct or indirect supervision of a regulated healthcare professional, the Home Support Aide works as a member of the interdisciplinary team, in various community and/or facility settings. The type of supervision (direct or indirect) will depend on the complexity of the tasks or procedure being assigned, the stability of the patient/client and the skill level of the worker performing it. The Home Support Aide participates in the delivery of quality individualized, client-centred care, based on assessed unmet needs of the patient/client. Responsibilities include providing direct care to assist in the activities of daily living, comfort and safety of the patient/client and providing indirect services to support the overall provision of care in their assigned area.
