| Posting Title Heavy Duty Mechanic Department Mechanical Position Profile Heavy Duty Mechanic We are seeking highly adaptive and skilled professionals to assume the role of Heavy Duty Mechanic . The role Heavy Duty Mechanics perform major and minor repairs, overhauls and servicing on all types of vehicles, vehicle attachments and material handling equipment. Critical performance areas include: Inspecting, servicing and maintaining locomotives, vehicles and equipment in accordance with federal and company regulations, including changing oil or repairing, replacing, cleaning and adjusting parts; Diagnosing diesel engine malfunctions and making required repairs; Assembling and starting engines; Using electric and oxy-acetylene welding equipment, lubrication equipment and other vehicle repair tools and equipment, and operating said tools and machinery in a safe and effective manner; Repairing various work equipment machinery; Preparing inspection, maintenance, and work reports, and r ecording details on prescribed forms in accordance with established procedures; Providing hi-rail servicing and installations.
