| Title: GIS Technician - District of West Kelowna Organization: District of West Kelowna DISTRICT OF WEST KELOWNA G.I.S. TECHNICIAN Join the District of West Kelowna as a G.I.S. Technician. As part of the Finance Department (Information Systems) the incumbent will support the users of various DWK departments by updating drawings and linework. Required qualifications: • Grade 12 education, plus completion of post secondary education in a GIS / CAD related program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; • A minimum of 2 years experience in a related position, preferably in a local government setting; • Ability to create and edit drawings and data using Arc Info, ArcMap, Arc View, AutoCad; • Good working knowledge of GPS; • Good working knowledge of land surveying, topographical and legal, preferred; • Knowledge of maps, bylaws, planning and other government policies and procedures; • Solid understanding of CAD based software and CAD related equipment such as plotters and flat bed scanners; • Good understanding of cartography and geographic map reference systems; • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relati.... |
