| Furnace Operator Assitant Location: Welland Industry: Industrial Type: Contract Pay Rate: 12/hr Post Date: 01/16/2012 Job Description: Position Summary: Reporting to the Production Manager is responsible assisting mechanics for the operation, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of the furnaces within the plant.Production standards vital to support a 24/7 production schedule. Job Requirements: Duties/Responsibilities/Procedures: Essential Duties: Assiting with the Operating multi-function central process control machinery to heat treat steel pipe ? Observing computer printouts, video monitors and gauges to verify specified processing conditions and to make necessary adjustments ? ? Actively participates in problem-solving activities related to operation of equipment in the work area both on a preventive and a reactive basis ? Assisting with machinery maintenance or repair ? Ensuring safe practices are followed within all areas in order to provide for a safe work environment ? Interpretation of work orders and instructions to determine work assignments, process specifications and production schedules ?
