POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Supervisor – Design & Field Engineering, is
responsible for field design, construction layout, inspection, and surveying.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervises, trains, and provides direction to field staff, seasonal employees, and students for the day-to-day
operation for engineering projects.
2. Liaises with project engineers, contractors, utility companies, City departments, businesses, and the general public
on concerns related to City Engineering Division operations.
3. Organizes and supervises the construction, inspection, and survey layout with strict adherence to all standards and
specifications of construction work performed by contractors and various City divisions.
4. Designs surface grades and alignments to meet existing infrastructure.
