| Title/Titre Engineering Design Technician (2) Department Engineering Responsibilities PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES ? Investigate existing local plant conditions, accessing a variety of records, checking with various government offices such as Ministry of transport for existing records and developers. ? Examine facilities in manholes to verify duct occupancy, splices or congestions. ? Prepare rough work plans for the implementation and the improvement of the outside network; analyze clients current and future needs; select and assign appropriate equipment, facilities and installations ? Collects, analyzes and organizes basic engineering data to develop design layouts and all engineering documentation required for a complete functional design; ? Prepares layouts and detail drawings complex assemblies from notes, verbal instructions and rough or detailed sketches; ? Conduct all fieldwork necessary to determine the most effective, cost efficient plant to install ? Negotiate construction details with customer (back board, private conduit.) ? Identify pole heights and protection requirements according to site location and standards ? Visually check for illegal attachments and verify permits .... |
