| ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST Location Vancouver, BC #200 - 1445 West Georgia St, V6G 2T3 Job Description: This is a full time position ideally suited to an enthusiastic candidate with 3 to 5 years of experience in the area of contaminated site assessments.?? The position involves field and office work and some out of town work should be expected.?? Training and mentoring will be provided by others on our environmental team.?? Professional development is encouraged and opportunities will be provided both within Thurber and from outside training agencies. Typical office duties will include: Research and document historical landuses through review of aerial photographs, reverse directories, Fire Insurance plans, municipal records, BC On-line and other sources Organization and tabulation of analytical data Preparation of Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports Cost estimates and proposal writing Typical field duties will include: Site inspections and note taking Working with excavation and drilling contractors to recover soil samples?? during site investigations and excavations Installation of groundwater monitoring wells, well development, purging and sampling Field measurements of groundwater for te.... |
