| Contract opportunity downtown, 5 1/2 months duration. The DBA will support a web application and reporting application implementation, ensuring all change requests will be implemented accurately without impacting the completed system functions as well as minimum system outage at system go-live. Duties include: Perform logical-to-physical DB design transformation Implement, maintain and test the production, system testing, user acceptance testing, and development instances for all databases. Design and implement database administration (e.g. statistics and data organization management) and integrity (e.g. backup/recovery) procedures for the production databases, etc. The successful applicant will have: 5-9 years experience as a Database Administrator Expert experience designing, implementing and maintaining databases under Oracle 10g Enterprise Experience in implementation aspects of Oracle DBMS in conjunction with the WebSphere Application Server Expert experience in designing for performance and concurrency, e.g. through the use of data clustering, indexing, partitioning techniques and the consideration of transaction locking and isolation levels Extensive experience in logical/ph.... |
