An exciting opportunity exists for a librarian at the Nunavut Court of Justice. Reporting to the
Director of Court Services, this position is the central legal resource service to assist the
effective functioning of the justice system in Nunavut. The incumbent will develop and manage
effective library services to meet the legal information requirements of the judiciary, local bar,
Nunavut government departments and all other library users. Responsibilities include the
effective planning and operation of the library combined with providing reference and research
services to users by utilizing a variety of print and electronic sources. The incumbent also
proofreads and prepares Nunavut Court of Justice judgments for publication and maintains the
Court website. This position is also responsible for acquisitions, expenditures, staffing and policy
respecting the Court Library.
The ideal candidate will have a Masters degree in Library Science (M.L.S.) from an ALA-
accredited university program along with progressively responsible professional library
