| Job Title: Community Health Nurse Job ID: 9179 Location: Fort McPherson Department BDHSSA Health Centres Return to Previous Page Job Information Community Health Nurse Beaufort Delta Health and Social Services Authority Fort McPherson, NT Located within the Fort McPherson Health Centre and reporting directly to the Nurse-in-Charge the incumbent is one of three Community Health Nurses who deliver community health services to a client population of approximately 880 residents (predominantly Gwich in). The Health Centre is the sole medical facility in the community and supports approximately 5,600 individual encounters per year. The Community Health Services include providing non-emergency care; responding to medical emergencies that require decision making outside of the usual policies, procedures and standards of nursing care; and delivering nursing programs designed to promote community health and wellness. The level of knowledge is typically acquired through the successful completion of a Nursing Degree and 2 years recent nursing experience in an acute care setting or within a northern health centre.
