Halton Healthcare Services Posting #: 2012-669214 Non Union Position: Clinical Resource Nurse Department: Child and Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatry Unit Status: Temporary Full-time (approximately 1 year) Hours: 8 and 12 hour shifts, straight days, Monday to Friday, no weekends Site: Oakville Responsibilities: This role must function as a part of a multidisciplinary team providing individual and group assessment of severely ill child and adolescent psychiatric patients. He/she must be competent to recommend treatment modalities in mental health and implement nursing interventions. This requires mandatory initiation, development, evaluation and revision of psychiatric care paths, specific to each patient. The incumbent must be competent to carry out a mental status examination and provide mental health teaching to patients and families as indicated. Essential to the role is a strong knowledge of all pertinent legislation and the application of it in order to advocate effectively for patients suffering from mental health disorders.
