| Title Chair of Alberta Cancer Research Ethics Committee Job ID ACB-12-004 Function Alberta Health Services is currently recruiting a Chair for the Alberta Cancer Research Ethics Committee. The role of ACREC is to ensure that appropriate standards are followed and to support researchers in their efforts to conduct ethically sound cancer research when research is conducted using human participants. The chair will work closely with the ACREC office, members of the Research Ethics Board and the cancer research community. The REB Chair promotes a culture with special emphasis on the respect for and protection of individuals participating in cancer research. In promoting such a culture, the Chair is directly responsible for overseeing the protection of research participants by ensuring the proper review, approval, disapproval or determination of exemption from further review of research protocol submissions to ACREC.
