| CNC Set-up Technician Location Guelph, Ontario Description QUALIFICATIONS: Certified General Machinist or a combination of education and relevant work experience More then four (4) years of experience Previous experience with lathes, mills, grinders, heat treating, multi spindle CNC, gun-drills, and robots Full understanding and knowledge of machine controls, tools and work offsets Intermediate understanding of CNC programming. Capable of operating CNC machines Capable of setting priorities for all set-ups Knowledge of SPC methods, process and machine capability requirement and lot control techniques. Must be able to determine the amounts of materials needed and to measure pieces to verify that the size meets the specifications. Able to read computer-generated profile views to adjust the tooling appropriately. Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications Ability to make decisions of when to reset a machine and make irregularly shaped pieces. Must have good communication skills to interact with supervisors and to seek clarification or help when problems arise.
