| Position Title: CLERK Classification: PART TIME Hours of Work: VARIABLE Job Competition #: CLE12-009 Qualifications Grade 12 graduate or equivalent College diploma in Secretarial or Medical Office Administration preferred Experience, Skill, and Ability Fast, accurate computer keyboarding skills required Knowledge of medical terminology required Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills Ability to problem solve independently with minimal supervision required Tact, diplomacy and a courteous manner are essential Clerical experience is required Ability to work quickly, efficiently and accurately Maintains strict confidentiality Works under pressure with strict timelines Ability to multi-task in a busy setting Demonstrated understanding of Patient Flow principles preferred Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required Demonstrated ability to fulfil role within Attendance Support Program parameters Principal Duties Operates telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing and inter-office calls Assigns appropriate beds for all inpatients, including direct, emergency, elective and repatriation cases.
