| Bioinformatician - Toronto, Ontario Position: Bioinformatician Site: MaRS Centre, Toronto Department: Informatics & Bio-computing Reports To: Principal Investigator Salary: Commensurate with level of experience Hours: 35 Hrs/week Status: Full-time, Permanent The Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR) is seeking middle-level Bioinformatician to play a major role in data analysis and interpretation of structural variations in pancreatic cancer genomes, and stem cell research in leukemia. The successful candidate will be working closely with senior data analysts and a production team sequencing data analysis on projects including: • Optimization and automation of algorithms for analyzing of next-generation sequencing and microarray data; • Algorithm development for DNA-RNA-proteomics data integration; • Software-engineering to improve usability, extensibility and scalability of existing programs for mutation detection. The successful candidate will have access to cutting-edge technologies such as Solexa and SOLID sequencers, Illumina bead station, CGH array platforms and will have an opportunity to work in OICR’s intellectually stimulating environment.
