| ADMISSIONS ASSISTANT- Competition Number 12-02A Kwantlen Polytechnic University is seeking a customer service focused individual for a full-time temporary (until January 2013) Admissions Assistant position to start immediately. Primary responsibilities involve evaluation of applications for admission and related documentation, advising students regarding admission requirements, registration and other institutional resources, and liaising with faculty and other university departments. A working knowledge of admissions procedures as well as intermediate experience working with a student records system (ideally BANNER) is needed in this role. A minimum of two years of office experience is required, preferably gained in a post-secondary education environment. Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and database software is needed as well as the ability to type a minimum of 40wpm with a high degree of accuracy. An aptitude for exacting and precise work as well as the ability to prioritize and work independently with frequent interruptions is essential in this role.
