Staff Nurse - Emergency
(REGULAR FULL-TIME, Averaging 75 Hours Per Pay Period)
JOB SUMMARY:
The R.N. practices within the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia, CRNNS Standards of
Nursing Practice for Registered Nurses and the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics, is
responsible and accountable for the nursing care of an assigned group of patients and their families;
provides guidance and leadership to peers and other staff; works in a collaborative relationship with
colleagues, unit staff, students and members of related health disciplines.
REQUIREMENTS:
Registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia.
CPR Certification or BCLS –C.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support). If not available, willing to complete at first
opportunity.
ENP (Emergency Nurse Program) or CCNP (Critical Care Nursing Program). If not available,
willing to complete within two years (by April 2013).
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nurses Pediatric Course), and
TNCC, or willing to take TNCC and PALS in the future.
