What is Wowjobs?
Wowjobs was founded with the objective of fundamentally changing the way in which Canadian job seekers search for jobs and employers scout for talent. Wowjobs is a search engine for jobs. We provide a one stop shop for job search by making jobs from numerous sources available to you at a single convenient location.
We focus only on searching jobs, unlike generic search engines such as msn, yahoo or google. We currently scan thousands of job sites, job boards, company sites and career-boards across Canada and make these jobs easily accessible to the Canadian job seekers.
How are you the largest Job Search Engine in Canada?
Simply because we have the largest number of active and real jobs available
for searching! We crawl and index more than hundred job sites and have more jobs than any other job site or job search engine. Unlike many other sites, we do not 'refresh' the dates on our jobs and 'republish' them. We keep only jobs that are less than one month old. Older jobs are kept only when an employer specifically has a deadline that goes beyond this period.
How can we search for jobs?
There are several ways. You can search by keywords or job location.
You can also browse jobs by province, city or job category.
There’s also an advanced search page available if you want to search in very specific
way (e.g. by employer).
Once you get the search results back, you can also use a number of filters to fine tune your search results. For example, you may
filter by the age of job, title search or distance.
Do you just focus on Canadian jobs?
Yes. That's all we do.
May we suggest a job site that should be included?
Absolutely! Please tell us! We add new job sites (job boards and company sites) on almost daily basis! So please make a suggestion. We won't disappoint you!
Why don’t some of the distances appear correct?
It is possible that some of the distances may be slightly off. Geospatial data is constantly revised and it's possible
that our information needs to be revised. Please contact us here, if you wish to
report any such problem.
How do you decide Top Cities for a province?
It is simple- we include the most populous cities for a province.
We don't really have a cut off for the minimum size to ensure that some of the less
populous provinces and territories have at least one city included.
Can you provide some details on how you crawl?
Please Contact Us if you require further details on this.
Why are the job dates on wowjobs.ca different from the dates
on job boards?
Several job boards refresh job dates for the same job posting frequently
(even everyday!). The job date you see on wowjobs.ca for a job posting is the date
a job appeared on a job board for the first time.
Can we post our resume here?
Not yet. But based on the number of requests we receive for this feature, we have (almost) changed our mind. Please keep on checking as we'll have an exciting new and unique feature for those who want to post their resume.
Can we post our jobs here?
No. But your jobs can be easily included in our search results. There
are two ways of going about this. First, provide us an XML feed in our pre-defined
format. Please Contact Us for details. Alternatively, please post your jobs on a
site that we crawl (almost all Canadian job sites) and your jobs will be automatically
included. If you have a job site
where your jobs are posted, we can schedule a crawl of the jobsite provided it is
in a certain format.
